As an economist and especially as a social activist, Sombart was then seen as radically left-wing, and so only received — after some practical work as head lawyer of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce — a junior professorship at the out-of-the-way University of Breslau. If anything the left has been the one that in the long term has helped capitalism even more, with social movements trying to deterretorialize social forms and reterretorialize with other forms more fit into the capitalist machine. The mordern day left (new left) only managed to decode communities with codes that resisted to capital, codes that created social formations of identity capable to bringing people together in orginazed ways and fight capitalism. All it has done in the last decades is lube the cogs of capitalism to expand ever more.
All of this because they managed to create a social machine, a machine that said (coded) there was some desire needed to be set "free" and gave it a holiness similar to any religion of the past.

Liberalism cannot be "Right Wing". Axiomatically. To be Right is to be Illiberal. The very definition of the words "Right" and "Left" forbid it. "Leftism" IS Liberalism. They're one and the same. You should actually read Marx, because it's pretty clear that you haven't (he actually talks about the very thing you're doing, which is an explicit defense of Liberalism). The idea that Liberalism and Marxism are fundamentally opposed is a Liberal tactic to defend Liberalism from criticisms of its own premises. Marx said the best way to get rid of inequality was to just knock it all over in a generation or two, whereas Liberalism tries this weird tactic of increasing the ranks of hierarchy, but constantly horizontalizing it and making the differences ever smaller, with the idea that eventually hierarchy will just go away as the difference between a baker and a black woman and a Jewish president will be nil. Marx's idea obviously gets rid of inequality more quickly, and more efficiently.

Which is why Liberalism promotes this idea that it's somehow fundamentally different from Marxism (it isn't, the metaphysics are the same), to avoid that critique entirely. It allows Liberalism to remove the idea of "efficiency" from the question of ending inequality, and instead makes it solely about technique. Marx's techniques are mean and just ossify hierarchy, whereas Liberal technique is nice and gets rid of it.

Both are obviously horseshit because the fundamental metaphysics are wrong, you can't get rid of inequality, but that's really irrelevant.
