i disagree. i think people are just undersocialized today. i think animals are less attuned (but still somewhat) to the body language of humans as humans. the real difference is that we add labguage on top of body language and culturally we have pushed for explicitcy of language rather than the implicity of body language due to atomization in modernity. If you lived in some polonesian close nit tribe you would recognize every twitch of body language from another of your tribe.

I rarely finish a book. Don’t get me sideways, I always have my nose in one, but seven times out of ten I will quit before reaching the last page.

So much literature in the last two centuries is terribly tiresome and blasé. The tortured soul is the superstar of literature and I cannot relate. I’m very happy with my life and what God has given me.

I have shirked novels. The resolutions are too weak and pitiable, more accepting the loss than claiming the victory.

Now I cannot keep my nose out of the Bible. I am not a seminarian and I know almost nothing, but my mother and I grill every pastor and seminary graduate in our circle of friends for new insights into theology and Scripture.

About 5-6 years ago I decided to cut back on the time I spend online and read instead. This was largely fuelled by 4chan discussions and charts. It took a year or two, but I finally built up to reading 50-60 books a year. By this point I've read something like 400-500 books, about 2/3 fiction and 1/3 non-fiction. Now I am dismayed when I look at /lit/ as it is painfully obvious how few people actually read the books they are discussing. /lit/ is like an esoteric enlightened consumerist subculture, in which the aim is to show off your intellect while doing as little as possible to develop. Thankfully this has made most threads on /lit/ unbeatable to read and basically cured my image board addiction. As a follow-on effect, I have spent more time developing relations and friendships with those around me, cultivating my passions, and just generally bettering my life.

It feels good and I'm not even going to ever look at this thread again.

I haven’t been the best person.

As a young boy, I’ve always wondered what I was doing wrong, why I was never 100 percent sure god existed

Later in my late teens, the mystery of consciousness and the fact that I have qualia pushed me towards spiritualism, and I am more confident that there is something more to reality

I struggle with the inconsistencies and moral dilemmas in the Bible. From the problem of evil, to “god allowing free will” despite hardening the pharoh’s heart, to allowing slavery under mosaic law. It sometimes gets to confusing that I get angry, and I become furious when people warp the Bible to nonsensical limits in order to be consistent, like how people are willing to say that genesis is non-literal, but go on to take other books as literal

I struggle with hentai, and when I read it, I get intrusive thoughts that say “this is sin” but I try to stop them by telling myself everyone sins, or that god’s morals in the Bible are inconsistent, or that the Bible was heavily edited to control the masses.

I’m sorry if I’m incoherent, I’m really lightheaded
