This is a thread to discuss all literature related to Marxism/Socialism/Communism and Marx. There was a thread that just got deleted, even though some anons were discussing ideas in a level above the typical shitposts.

I ask the mods not to delete this thread if they don't wish to put their political agenda above the freedom of anons to discuss whatever literature they wish to discuss.

>A different kind of politics for a new kind of society—beyond work, scarcity and capitalism

>In the twenty-first century, new technologies should liberate us from work. Automation, rather than undermining an economy built on full employment, is instead the path to a world of liberty, luxury and happiness—for everyone. Technological advance will reduce the value of commodities—food, healthcare and housing—towards zero.

>Improvements in renewable energies will make fossil fuels a thing of the past. Asteroids will be mined for essential minerals. Genetic editing and synthetic biology will prolong life, virtually eliminate disease and provide meat without animals. New horizons beckon.

>In Fully Automated Luxury Communism, Aaron Bastani conjures a vision of extraordinary hope, showing how we move to energy abundance, feed a world of 9 billion, overcome work, transcend the limits of biology, and establish meaningful freedom for everyone. Rather than a final destination, such a society merely heralds the real beginning of history.
Sounds based

What do you think about Endnotes, Tiqqun, Theorie Communiste, and The Invisible Committee? I've come to really appreciate all the fringe ultra-left writing by people heavily influenced by the Situationist International lately.
I don't want to fight over left-communism though, I've found that even MLs and such can find a lot to appreciate in these texts.

Tiqqun made Glenn Beck have a meltdown on Fox News in 2009 for anyone not familiar.

Thoughts on A People's History of the World by Chris Harman?

I've actually read the book and found it to be a pretty good, informative, and compelling read. The book was going pretty good up until the 20th Century, at which point it frequently devolves into rants about "Stalinism" until the only communist movement in the world worth a shit were some trots in the Angloshitholes

Anyone got thoughts on this book? It sucks because the 20th Century is my most favorite time in history to read about, but I got enough rants about "muh Stalinism" in high school to get too deep into this

I've been reading "Hinterland" after I learned about it from this forum, and the author described a new form of American rightist politics he calls "National Anarchism". It's an idea I can't get out of my head, as it's such a fitting description of the right-wingers I've met in my lifetime. I haven't finished the book yet, but so far the author hasn't gone too in-depth on this idea and I wanted to bring it up here to see if we can further explore this new ideology. A simple way to describe it is that it's the American form of National Socialism and it's the ideology of radicalized libertarians. Any thoughts or ideas? Especially if you've read Hinterland.

Unlike shitposters on /pol/ Marx read extensively from high quality sources, and, between shitposts, actually developed coherent ideas based on empirical research.

But Marx was also a shitposter.

weak,
>Asteroids will be mined for essential minerals
what will the class labour of division look like?
>Genetic editing and synthetic biology will prolong life, virtually eliminate disease and provide meat without animals
How will such technological feats be distributed among the populace? If not via capitalist production which explodes the amount to make it popularly accessible?
>vision of extraordinary hope, showing how we move to energy abundance, feed a world of 9 billion, overcome work, transcend the limits of biology, and establish meaningful freedom for everyone
pure ideology
