Not a book but legitimately the entire Star Wars saga if you take the themes presented in the movies at face value

The first trilogy (prequels) is how statist democracy, whilst having good intentions, can fall prey to fascism / corporatocracy. Also the Jedi are a theocracy that are supposed to defend the civilians of the galaxy but end up failing them

The second trilogy (originals) is how statist authoritarianism is well, evil. The sith are an evil theocracy that use their powers to subjugate people.

The third trilogy (sequels) shows the failures of both statist democracy and statist authoritarianism, and it's only by rallying the plucky, gung-ho civilians of the galaxy - and not any Republic or official army - is the dark side of the force able to be defeated for good. The Jedi and Sith are shown to be incompetent and it's only through the leadership of a random scavenger (who has noble blood but rejects it) is the galaxy brought to balance.

Disney literally turned Star Wars into an anarchist work and they did so completely by accident, it's fucking hilarious

>statist democracy,
>the galactic republic
Republics always degrade into oligarchy.
> Also the Jedi are a theocracy
They’re not the government. They’re just an order of priest/knights
> The third trilogy (sequels) shows the failures of both statist democracy
Again, there isn’t any democracy present

I see what you’re saying though. Neat, but those Disney flicks are such trash.

Unironically, Heinlein. Especially Moon is a Harsh Mistress.
