Looking through audible and the copy I got, despite saying unabridged, has censored the word "nigger" throughout the story. Is there an audiobook version that stays true to the original story without the censorship, preferably one I can grab on audible?

Doubt you'll find it anon. Audiobooks are gay unless they're narrated by someone who has actual experience dictating prose. Just read it. You'll have a better time. Also I'd recommend you give An Outpost of Progress, and Youth : A Narrative a read before Heart of Darkness. They were published chronologically by Conrad, Outpost of Progress is short and establishes the hostile setting pretty well. Youth : A Narrative, presents Marlowe and shares the themes of futility and inevitability, the protagonist being much more naive this first time around.

If you are not too opposed to reading it yourself, then I would say it is a book you probably read at the same speed as you would listen to it. And you can read the word 'nigger' as many times as you like.
