I'd say this again, though i have said it before on Kant related threads.

Traditionally, every philosophical system depended on a metaphysical and transcendent starting point. Descartes was the first influential philosopher to change that argument, placing subjective experience on the place metaphysics traditionally had. If you read Vico's "the new science", you'll see that he already knew back then what was going to happen if philosophy follows that route.
Descartes's displacement of metaphysics was elaborated and reworked by other philosophers (like Hume), but none of them did it so as eloquently as Kant. He made up his whole philosophical system establishing his starting point on mere reason, instead of metaphysics. The problem with the rationalization of ethics is that, on the long run, every imperative ends up depending on an axiomatic value based on unexplained premises.
Now, since we are entering the "end of an era", or the "winter", so to speak, people will instinctively reject Kant. Despite his errors, he was the incarnation of the whole modern potential, he was our peak, our summer. Winter, on the other hand, is characterized by being the opposite to summer; everything that grew has already withered in the fall and all the trees are now bare. We entered winter with Nietzsche, which built all his philosophy in opposition to Kant's.
This is what they call post-modernity, which in fact it is nothing more than late modernity: rejection of Kant is the rule now.
