If you haven't read The Prince you probably should do, it's an essential work of literature.

It's like 90 pages retard, just read it. Then proceed with Discourses on Livy if you enjoyed the read.

Because in this day and age it is impossible for English to change its spelling. It's too late for that.

Read the prince, it's all most people will need. Think of discourses on livy as just the prince, but with sources. Unless your pretty familiar with the history of Rome, (and some greece) your going to miss some of the connections and allusions.
Instead of reading all the works on livy just to read the discourses, look up the podcast "history of rome" by Mike Duncan and listen to every episode up to Cesar, and that will catch you up to get more out of discourses. Then go back and read livy at your own pace.
Tl;dr read the prince.
