Malcolm X if The Autobiography of Malcolm X counts. I haven't read a ton of literature by black authors but I read something as a kid called Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry which was nice I suppose. The author's name is Mildred D. Taylor.

My favourite African book is *click click* *clack* *clap clap* *holler scream*. It's about the war between the ooga booga clan and the booga ooga clan. It was a ferocious battle in which 4 ooga booga tribesmen died and 23 of their fighting sticks were destroyed. Unfortunately the booga ooga clan was wiped out after all 17 of their tribesmen were killed and their entire village was raised to the ground. This had a disastrous effect on the technological progress of the pan-African peoples as the booga ooga village was the only village in all of Africa that had a library, which incidentally contained the 1 book in all of Africa on how to create a wheel. This was comparable to the raising of the Library of Alexandria for the African people.
