I found it online for free. Not gonna pay that much for a book if it ain't even going to go to the author

He wasn't gay. He had a wife and children. Homosexuality was just a taboo subject in Japan at that time so he used this to his advantage.

I suggest that you read Confessions of a Mask.

Spring Snow? I thought it was the weakest part of Sea of Fertily.

Runaway Horses was the strongest, and the best in my opinion. It's a rather obvious answer, but that's life. I do want to read Kyoko's House still though.

Spring Snow meanders in the beginning but the ending is great.

Thanks fren.

I used to dislike him but sound of waves is too confy. Confession of a mask was cool. Sun and steel is way overrated. I started golden pavillion a couple of times and never finished it, I have to read it from cover to cover.

>> No.16250475

Sea of Fertility trilogy is absolutely stunning, some of his best work.

Death in Midsummer is an excellent collection of short stories.

His plays are interesting too. Check out "my friend Hitler" and "Madame de Sade" - I'd kill to see these performed live.

He picked up dudes in gay bars and fucked them.
Homophobic cultures push plenty of gay men into heterosexual marriages complete with kids.

Just finished it a few hours ago as my intro to Mishima.
I can tell it’ll be sitting in my head for quite a while. Is it normal to be more upset about Ryuji’s returning longing for the sea and glory, the oncoming existence of regret for choosing to marry the land, than his impending death and dismemberment?
I also liked that we never found the original crime Noboru got caught doing, the one that his mother started locking his door for at the very beginning of the story.
Man, I just want to die a glorious death, this felt almost Hemingway-esque in how it struck a deep, emotional cord that women will never comprehend.
