>mfw anon on here recommends me read Wagner's early work "Art and Revolution"
>mfw it's like every idea on the Greeks including the anti-christianism that Nietzsche had
>mfw Wagner wrote multiple book length works around that time on similar topics attempting to apprehend the Gessummtkunstwerk
>mfw early Nietzsche was just recapitulating early Wagner
>mfw even when he's original it's obviously inspired by other thinkers like Hölderlin or Goethe
Did Nietzsche have any unique ideas?

>Did Nietzsche have any unique ideas
He was a very mentally ill man whose work only ended up being published because his sister managed to piece together his gibberish after he died. What do you think?

But anon, all of his major works were published during his lifetime, and he actually began to receive the beginnings of that fame a few weeks or months before his insanity.

when we think of Wagner we usually think of his music. he wasn't known for expounding on his ideas for a philosophical or academic audience

It's actually quite contrary anon, though most of his works and his entire life focused on art, he wrote many works though may be speaking on art, not "for the purpose of art", most famously these would be his later Regeneration writings starting with Religion and Art.
