That image makes a very interesting point about post-modern analysis.

Is there really a point if Brownbear isn't around? Just wait until later today, Brownbear will be back with a brand new greentext thread! it will be a great story, and in it he'll be carrying a book, which will make it on topic!

Where did Bearded Pynchon Guy go? He was good for these.

A road trip from the southwest to Canada. The main character leaves everything he knows behind to start a new life. Interstitial chapters reveal that he's really leaving because his girlfriend terminated a pregnancy he didn't know about. He wants to start a new life in order to make up for the one that was lost.

It's called Bloody Fetus, Dusty Road.

Also his name is Dusty Road.

A small town gets an offer to have a factory built there but they will have to dam the river that runs through it. The local industry relies on the river for energy and the children like to fish and swim there but the business owners are outvoted and the kids can't vote anyway. The factory is built and it sucks the soul out of the town, throwing up ash into the sky and scaring away the local fauna. The people who wanted it don't care because the town is getting money, but the children hate it and the old business owners go socially catatonic.

It's called Gray Block Water. Also it's narrated from the perspective of a poor, illiterate vagrant who sleeps in the park.

A man wants to be an engineer and works hard to get into college. Once he's there he struggles through every class, not realizing that he doesn't have the aptitude. He figures out that it's not what he wants to do with his life in his senior year. Everyone else is setting up job interviews and getting offers but he wants nothing to do with it. His whole life up to this point has been dictated by his family and his own preconceptions, and for the first time he has to determine his own path.

It's called Tack because there's a nautical metaphor running through the entire narrative (he's been "sailing" through life but always against the wind).

A man lives a mundane life in New York. He lives in a tiny apartment and works in a deli. One day a woman comes in and claims to be his wife, saying that he suffered a dissociative fugue. He realizes that he must have hated his old life so bad that his mind erased it but he doesn't like the life he has now either. He's torn between the unknown, old life that he thinks he'll dislike and the boring life he dislikes now. Slowly his memory starts returning and he begins conflating both personalities without trying.

A man posts retarded story ideas on /lit/ but no one reads them. He ponders the implications of digital trees falling in empty digital forests and being processed into digital paper filled with digital ink no one reads. In a life where content becomes ubiquitous, where does meaning come from? How does one inform content with meaning, or communicate meaning with content?

It's called My Diary ;_;

Someone should write a story about a guy who just sits around all day, eating doritos and farting, then going to work.

The ending of the book will be him going to see his parents for the weekend and having a good time.

dystopian society where after a man or woman has a child they are sterilized to prevent population growth.
Life expectancy has soared and the sterilization program is quickly becoming ineffective so they government begins poisoning the water in poorer areas and hires a secret militia to sneak around and kill anyone over 150. Only problem is it's the chief recruiter's 151st birthday, and the entire company is trying to go behind his back to get his position.

It's totally cliche but i just thought it up in 5 minutes so give me some credit

Hmmm... maybe a novel placed in the not-so-distant future about a prolific surgeon who people commission to make replicas of famous people on live "canvases". He and his wife carve beautiful perfection into the previously dreary and ho-hum mediums but apart from being an expensive masturbatory aide, his "sculptures" are ignored by the artistic body modification community for their lack of surrealism. Well his wife goes missing after power outage and a botched job for a powerful political figure. The politician is full of batshit crazy and sends the sculptor a video of his wife being raped and murdered by government officials some weeks later. The sculptor still needs to pay his various illegal bills and the best art comes from struggle, so he starts trying to recreate his wife. His first conception of her was absolutely perfect, but it pained him too much to look on her face, so he removes a Monroe-esque mole. He continues to make mole-less copies of his wife when suddenly, the artistic community sees his art as partially flawed, but remarkably beautiful and he becomes super famous. Eventually, ego, drugs and depression drive the sculptor off the deep end, and during a police raid of one of the "studios" he gets arrested. The politician comes to interview the surgeon at the end of the novel with one of the surgeon's wife copies, duct taped silent, offering the political asylum if he can destroy his own art. The surgeon kills the woman without thinking, while the politician is laughing in the background. He pulls off the duct tape off the dead body and it turns out his wife wasn't quite dead yet after all because the corpse has always omitted mole.

A young man has ambitions of becoming a screen writer but no one likes his stuff. His rival since grade school decides to do the same thing and they get in a race to see who gets accepted first. The narrative deals mainly with the main character attempting to balance this struggle with a romantic contest with the same guy over a lifelong crush. In the end, the other guy becomes a famous screenwriter but the main character gets the girl.

Two weeks later the girl dumps the main character and the other guy comes out in the press as gay. The main character is devastated but hopeful because he's at rock bottom.
