Like, what the fuck is the deal? God is dead, he's gone, empiricism is our God now. Why should we need philosophy. Deleuze was deliberately obfuscating his ideas in his books to swindle more readers down the line, all of his writings were tout court gobbledygook—same can be said about anyone else that lived after Wittgenstein and wasn't an analytic, really.

Read the philosophy of science.

God is dead. (Protip: Lakatos, Feyerabend "against Method")

What a very modern notion.

>Modern empiricism has been conditioned in large part by two dogmas. One is a belief in some fundamental cleavage between truths which are analytic, or grounded in meanings independently of matters of fact, and truths which are synthetic, or grounded in fact. The other dogma is reductionism: the belief that each meaningful statement is equivalent to some logical construct upon terms which refer to immediate experience. Both dogmas, I shall argue, are ill-founded. One effect of abandoning them is, as we shall see, a blurring of the supposed boundary between speculative metaphysics and natural science. Another is a shift toward pragmatism.

This is what I gasped from various sources, even philosophers don't agree or totally disagree on this question:

To define basic axioms needed for other disciplines and to relate concepts of the knowledge to unify them in a structure.

true there is no real need for philosophy right now in some aspect.
Nothing with the society is gonna change.
Philosophy of the self is a spiritual question in the end.
metaphysics are hard and boring.

the point of philosophy is to wax poetic about metaphysics so that girls with glasses will think you're an intellectual and want to fuck you. this was also the point of philosophy 2500 years ago.

Empiricism is not our today's deity.
Our God is called social progress.
And actually, because of that, we are regressing towards a more secular religious view of the world, pre-Descartes style.
Reason doesn't even matter anymore.

This is based, very Freudian but my coomer brain is absolutely aligned with this theory.
We invented philosophy to fuck.
It is the ultimate way for incels to fuck vaginas.
Especially cute petite intellectual pussies.
