Why is Shakespeare universally considered better than Proust? I’ve read both of their complete works. Proust’s work speaks to me so much more, and is so much richer.

Dylan Thomas speaks in a similar stronger way to me relative to John Milton for instance, but Milton's the greater (I took a Milton class btw). By far.
