Ned Vizzini was pretty cool. I read his novel about the smart pill years ago and I was just thinking about it recently. I also read a collection of his miscellany that was good. I think we would have been friends if we had gone to school together.

He had decent taste in contemporary fiction too. I remember from blogs back in the day that he’d pay attention to what was going on in alt lit and would put Tao Lin, Noah Cicero and them on his best books of the year lists and stuff.
