Are you that dense? It's the issue that there are several photos of him reading what is clearly the opening of the books, but never halfway/near finished etc, indicating that he doesn't actually finish them.
But whatever, it's not like /lit/ is any different.

yes his lack of awareness and forethought is because he doesn't read books

Of course he doesn't read the books. Do you think a superstar athlete is going to be sitting around reading catching fire? He was probably being paid for that photo opportunity. That isn't to say that he doesn't read at all, just that he's not doing it out in public with people taking photos

I read an article somewhere about Mike Tyson's reading in prison and an interview about his impressions of Tolstoy. Though he later repudiated reading he's an incredibly good reader- no lie. I was enormously impressed. Wish I could find it. Think it was in Harper's but I can't remember; it was an old version issue, from the '90's I think.

I don't really think that has much to do with whether or not you read. Some people just have very little awareness with that kind of thing. I don't play piano, but if I were faking a pic I'd at least make sure to play a realistic chord

He is such a clown. I remember he posted a video to brag about his quarter squats and he got roasted. I know quarter squats can be beneficial to athletes but nobody is impressed that you can load them with weight. It must have drove him nuts to get made fun of because he's obsessed with his image.

I think hes actually reading it.

If you arrived to a photo shoot, and the photographer said "ok, now pretend you are reading" most people would just open up near the middle.

If he is on the first pages, I bet he's reading it, just a troll cherry-picking pics

Will check it out; have only now ventured into listening to Podcasts with the outbreak of C19- have no idea why I avoided the whole idea of them till this past March. One I've recently enjoyed is Weird Studies (those two Leafs have obviously spent some time here, they reference chan culture in a few of their episodes with a faux 'by the way' innocence that completely gives them away). At any rate the episode on McLuhan is excellent.
Thanks for the tip.

Can't judge the taste unless I know what he's reading..
There are always better lawyers, politicians, actors, singers and chefs..
I like athletics (athletes) because I know due entirely to the nature of what they do what I'm seeing on the telly is the best of the best
They deserve respect whether they read or not, I don't care who they are
Their disciplined lives are straitened in ways the mean of humanity just won't understand and sure
It's a privilege to play
But no privilege is more thoroughly earned.

Even if that's what he's doing it's fake as fuck. It's much more likely that he wants to appear to be smart. He's like the picture of that one nigger on the train pretending to read two books at the same time. Black people are extremely materialistic and image conscious to the point where many of them will do things like walk around with a cigarette in their mouth despite never smoking.

all of those pictures are from pre-game, so of course he's on the start of the book
if the pictures were taken at night, at lebron's bedside table before he goes to bed, he'd probably be a lot further in the books
also he probably doesn't finish every book he starts, he is probably a very discerning reader who samples a lot and only finishes the best stuff
