It's true. The flurry of rules makes it a more precise language. German and french have multiple versions of 'you' that indicate what gender the designated person has, if it is multiple people or just one person, if they are to be adressed formally or informally. In english you would use the word you even when speaking to the queen or any dignitary, but to use 'du' or 'tu', instead of 'Sie' or 'voux' when speaking to someone of rank is, frankly, disgusting.
