That's not the point of the game. It tries to simulate a very stereotypical japanese summer vacation from the point of view of a kid, I don't think this game was intended to be played by children, why should they? They can do this every summer, while japanese salarymen are commuting/working/getting wasted. Maybe they tried to give those adults a fragment of their childhood back.
