for me, its big sur

Dharma Bums or Big Sur I consider to be his best. On the Road is fine, but I found I was much more engaged with he "Original Scroll" than I was with the mass produced edited version. It is a but overrated though.

On the Road, but specifically the Original Scroll. The story is there in full and the energy is unmatched. This probably isn't his "best novel," but my love for travel and the American landscape seal the deal for me.

When I finally get around to starting Kerouac, should I read the Original Scroll version instead of the standard? Is On The Road even a good place to start with his works? Thanks bros.

The standard is fine. Part of the fun of the original scroll is reading the names of the people as the characters (like Ginsberg, Burroughs, etc), but I guess if you are not that familiar with the beats, you won't miss much

Okay, thanks. I suppose if I like it enough I can always read the Scroll version later on.
