Anything by Easton Ellis

Or for that matter anything that requires one to look past the superficial

I have seen women talk about Crime and Punishment but never ever discuss the recurring theme of redemptive suffering in Dosto.

They either think the book is about Dolores rather than Humbert, despite the fact that the reader knows absolutely nothing about her that isn't filtered through his point of view, or they're DD/LG fetishists who think the book is a porno.

I always thought that the filtering of her character from Humbert's point of view was the whole point of the book. A parody of that kind of "male gaze"fiction. We're not meant to take his perspective at face value, the whole thing is essentially reading between the lines.

This post is a cope for the fact that you didn't properly understand pic related. Or you didn't read it at all which wouldn't be the least surprising.

>> No.16146729

Yeah, the problem comes from women empathizing with Humbert's portrayal of Dolores as a precocious sexy teenager as if it's 100% accurate, and then complaining that men can't understand the book because they were never precocious sexy teenagers themselves.

why? i havent read or known the synopsis of this
