Hey, /lit/, I just finished Neverwhere and I'd like to know if there's nay good urban/modern fantasy novels you'd recommend. Doesn't have to be deep, just decently written and an entertaining read.
Pic unrelated.

is urban fantasy just fantasy occurring in the city? if so I recommend Perdido Street Station.

Yeah, fantasy set in a more modern environment, or at least something different than pastoral kingdoms in some pseudo-medieval world.

There's this series called Harry Potter it's about a boy who has to live with his aunt and uncle after his parents die under mysterious circumstances until it is revealed that he's a wizard[/i] they are good books and I think you would like them.

Yeah, Perdido Street Station would probably fit the bill then. It's sort of a blend of urban fantasy, steampunk, and horror. Another book by China Mieville that I highly recommend is The City & The City, which strictly speaking isn't quite fantasy but has a definite urban fantasy feel to it.

Well, this seems to be a fairly popular choice, so I guess I have my next read.
Thanks.
