Bukowski is just loved by people who think it’s really cool to be a drunken wreck all the time. Most of his fans are either immature or at least acknowledge they started reading him at like, 19
It’s not that much different from people who romanticize writers like Sylvia Plath and DFW for killing themselves.
It’s extremely cringe and only gets worse when you stop for a second and think of the demographics of this board

Not sure, the stereotypes in my head are probably outdated but I think it’s still safe to assume any particular Anon more likely to be under 25 than not.
It happens to be relevant here because Charles Bukowski had the mindset of a College Junior and it shows in his work.
It’s also probably safe to assume the person writing “you just don’t like him because he’s popular” is probably not worth careful consideration.
