After months of Isolation, I'm burnt out. Why do you all read philosophy is it to improve? To know? I feel the want too but I don't know what drives that anymore.

im a polisci major and admit it was the worst decision of my life. not because of the low career options but because i nearly want to kill myself on a daily basis from what i have learned

I used to want to understand. I knew that no matter how good life is its all a distraction. That in the end all people are alone. Despite the sociality of humans , at their core theyre lonely. I wanted to know why. I wanted to be able to come to terms with that feeling. Now for a important opportunity I must write something that capivates me. That something is philosophy but i can no longer explain why

Solidus truly did nothing wrong, Edward Snowden was dead right about this. It's astonishing how many people played the game but couldn't see this basic truth. I think its because philosophy by its very nature is a quest for justification in itself. once you say why you study philosophy you tie yourself to a specific meaning and type of phil.

Cant remember it but Hegel has a great quote in PoS along the lines of "Philosophy is a particular which contains its universal within itself" or something.
