16086065 No.16086065 [Reply] [Original]

the other day we were talking with my brother how if we lived according to game theory we would train(lift weights) only twice a week, full body, because it provides great return on your efforts.Other training routines that require training more frequently/complex provide very little additional benefits, in spite of requiring much more effort and time investment. Do you know any books that approaches life as a game and breaks down how to live different aspects of life according to game theory?

>I embrace the homosexual aesthetics but I really really love women i swear

physical well being is done through healthy food and walking. beyond this shows that you either do it because
-you are bored, aka a failure
-you try to fulfill some power fantasy, sign of betacuckness
-you are a homo, aka a failure
-you do it for women, aka a man devoted to please women even if you claim otherwise, like all men, aka a failure
-you cling to your health, aka a failure living in fear of death

=>you are a pleb as soon as you lift.

>=>you are a pleb as soon as you lift.
"Walking down the sidewalk, I felt confident. At parties with my wife, I saw men who ran marathons, and they looked gaunt and weak. I could have squashed them.

UPPER MIDDLE CLASS AMERICANS AVOID "EXCESSIVE DISPLAYS OF STRENGTH," VIEWING THE BODYBUILDER LOOK AS VULGAR OVERCOMPENSATION FOR WOUNDED MANHOOD.

Soon, however, I suffered a creeping insecurity. Looking into the eyes of a banker with soft hands, I imagined him thinking,You deluded moron, what does muscle have to do with anything?

One day, a skinny triathlete jogged past our house: visor, fancy sunglasses, GPS watch. I caught a look of yearning in my wife’s eyes. That night, we fought and she confessed: She couldn’t help it, she liked me better slender.

Friends came for dinner. A public-interest lawyer, noticing I was bigger, asked what I’d been up to.

“I'm really into lifting weights right now,” I said. “Trying to get strong.”

The lawyer’s wife, a marathoner and family therapist, appeared startled, as if concerned about my emotional state. She looked me in the eye and said, “Why?”

Sociologists, it turns out, have studied these covert athletic biases. Carl Stempel, for example, writing in theInternational Review for the Sociology of Sport, argues that upper middle class Americans avoid “excessive displays of strength,” viewing the bodybuilder look as vulgar overcompensation for wounded manhood. The so-called dominant classes, Stempel writes—especially those like my friends and myself, richer in fancy degrees than in actual dollars—tend to express dominance through strenuous aerobic sports that display moral character, self-control, and self-development, rather than physical dominance. By chasing pure strength, in other words, packing on all that muscle, I had violated the unspoken prejudices—and dearly held self-definitions—of my social group."

I'll take the bait
>homosexual aesthetics
Do your best to obtain literally the most desirable body type by females with just "healthy food" and "walking". Pic related.
>you are bored
Imagine considering that keeping your body in the state it is supposed to be, capable and strong, in a society where the imperative sedentary lifestyle actively works aginst it, is an idle pastime.
>power fantasy
The feel when you fail to perform a task that requires strength (eg lift some heavy object), only to see someone stronger do it with ease is not because of a power fantasy but because you failed at being a man. Masculinity and strength go hand in hand. It's avoiding being strong that makes you a betacuck, not the opposite.
>you are a homo
See point #1
>you do it for women
I actually agree with this one.
>you cling to your health
People who cling to their health are the kind that "walk and eat healthy", like you. People who lift generally don't care about their health, even though lifting has a lot of health benefits, some of which you cannot obtain with othe forms of exercise.

A lot of projection here. Different exercises make different muscle groups work. You get benefits like better blood flow, oxygenation, etc.

Tit-for-tat is not always a good idea, as it may sometimes escalate easily avoided situations. Sometimes, somebody has a bad day, and he will appreciate it in the long run if you behave understandingly.
