Well, some of us trouble focusing. And don't fucking say it's because we don't try to pay attention or we aren't that interested in what we're reading to begin with. I'm constantly trying to keep a firm grip on whatever needs my attention, including driving or even a simple TV show, but it hardly works. It's like there's this barrier between my eyes and my brain, and the latter keeps getting this hazy, convoluted image of what my eyes receive. It isn't always like this, sometimes my focus is like the breaking of a dam (honestly, this is only thing keeping me from contemplating whether I'm actually just stupid), and it's fucking great when it happens--but that lasts for about 15 minutes before I'm staring off into space with a billion other thoughts racing in my head. I fucking hate it.
