unironically rilke's poetry and letters.

suicide song

All right, just a moment.
That they always take the rope away from me
and cut it.
Lately I've been so prepared,
and there was already a little bit of eternity
in my guts.

Hold me the spoon here,
this spoon-fed life.
No, I want to and I don't want to anymore,
let me give in, throw up.

I know that life is whole and good,
and that the world is like a full dish,
but for me it doesn't get into my blood,
it just goes straight up to my head.

For others it's nourishment, me it just makes sick;
Understand, that one can despise it.
For at least a thousand years
I'll have to fast.

and a letter
>There is death in life, and it astonishes me that we pretend to ignore this: death, whose unforgiving presence we experience with each change we survive because we must learn to die slowly. We must learn to die: That is all of life. To prepare gradually the masterpiece of a proud and supreme death, of a death where chance plays no part, of a well-made, beatific and enthusiastic death of the kind the saints knew to shape. Of a long-ripened death that effaces its hateful name and is nothing but a gesture that returns those laws to the anonymous universe which have been recognized and rescued over the course of an intensely accomplished life. It is this idea of death, which has developed inside of me since childhood from one painful experience to the next and which compels me to humbly endure the small death so that I may become worthy of the one which wants us to be great.

Dagon by H.P. Lovecraft: the last letter of a morphone addicted naval officer driven to suicide by horrors at sea he can't forget
I like the readings G.M. Danielson did, both the normie and the ASMR one (use headphones for that). Danielson's dayjob is a sound engineer or something the sound quality for his creepypastas is as good as ASMR PPOMO.

A good NON-fiction book about suicide and the statistics/history of such, is 'Night Falls Fast: Understanding Suicide'. Been a while since I read it, so I can't remember the name of the author (Kay Redfeld Jamison or something?). I recommend it for anyone fascinated by suicide/mental illness.

I listen to, and watch, lot of ASMR artists, hatomugi ASMR, Frivolous Fox, , easy ASMR, Mamo ASMR, Dana ASMR, depending on what I'm in the mood for..when it comes to pure audio though (enjoyed through headphones), PPOMO does it best. She's got good visuals but it works with me doing other stuff while listening to. I get such tingles when she's scraping wooden blocks or blowing on the mic.

Note that PPOMO is wearing ear buds in her vids, she can hear what sounds she's making as she records. With the other artists I've missed, there's a lot of hit and miss rather something tingles or relax, easy ASMR has some really strong tingles in his vids, wood block scraping and slovak whispering, but there could be a 55 minute vids where it's mostly nothing. With PPOMO is consistent good stuff every video upload, there's a lot of editing.

You should be able to get it on a book piracy website, like the one in the sticky on the first page of this board. I have it physically because I didn't use /lit/ back then and didn't realise you could pirate it, I always thought it was a really obscure work and no one would bother transferring it from physical to mobi/epub. (You can't get it on the Kindle store in my country of Australia, last I checked, either.)

I hope so, since that's the only way I read books now. Besides when my family is kind enough to buy some for a holiday. I saw it recommended on r/pessimism recently which is one of the only subreddits I browse. That wouldn't have happened to have been you, would it?

OP should eat:
- bananas for the potassium
- potatoes for the potassium and magnesium, also I just find it hard to feel depressed after eating a sheppard pie
- dark chocolate (avoid sugar as there will be a sugar crash). Baker's chocolate is cheap and healthy

Trying to remember this Toronto library book I checked out a few years ago, eating or cooking for Depression. You really got to meal plan and prep when you are up and about so that when you barely feel like getting out of bed you still have food. Not eating properly makes your depression worse.

i made that post and i agree with all this. its good stuff. i dont even like beans i just like the spontaneously present appreciation of something. like beans. bananas are really great. some foods are just inherently depressing to eat, not bananas. therapist told me to eat better, and to sleep better. i said, you're right i haven't thought of that. it doesn't really matter if i had or hadn't, because it would be ridiculous to try to diagnose the maladies of a plant if you hadnt first checked its water intake. like if a computer starts malfunctioning, the easiest thing to replace is the power supply, or charger, if you're a laptop. moving a lot. your home has readily at hand an alternating current to supply things. alternating current is easy to produce because magnetic properties allow you to turn mechanical motion into electrical current. which oscillates back and forth. so what travels through the wires isnt so much the electrons as it is the motion it induces. the binary world likes steady currents, thats how your computer parts are designed. to take steady currents. your wall produces alternating currents. through a series of steps in the power supply you can make this conversion. first you use a step down transformer to decrease the ac voltage in the wall. a rectifier and input filter will turn the wiggly, back and forth wiggly, current, not really gaining or losing ground, but moving, into a straight - but speeding and slowing, same direction, current. then you use a regulator to make it as steady as possible, no longer speeding or slowing. some overvoltage protections. and that's how your computer gets its food
