What is your preferred Catholic Bible? Do you prefer a more literal translation or a dynamic translation? I'm looking to pick my first. I was looking at an Ignatius. However, as I understand, the lectionary used during Mass in the U.S. is from the NAB version.

Yes, the Didache Ignatius Bible is easily the best for Catholics.

Ignatius is a study Bible that uses the RSV-2CE which is generally respected as literal and accurate. A modified NAB is used for the U.S. liturgy, but the NAB and NABRE you can buy are slightly different to it. I wouldn't worry too much about that because different jurisdictions use different translations, for example in Canada they use the NRSV-CE and in Britain The New Jerusalem Bible is used. A lot of posters here recommend the Douay-Rheims but that's because they are playing at being ultra-traditionalist Catholics. In reality the Douay-Rheims is very inferior, even as a translation of the Latin Vulgate, because the only edition you can buy now is the 1752 revision that modified it in light of the Latin, Greek, and King James Version.

contradiction, catholics don't read the bible, those that do don't read terrible translations that need to be edited to jive with catholic ideology.
