Is there anything better than this collection and if not is there anything I should buy along with it? Does it leave out certain fragments or is it complete?

There are two books published by Penguin, one about the early philosophers and other about the sophist, that I've heard are good, but I haven't read them yet.

Yes, it's called "The Texts of Early Greek Philosophy: The Complete Fragments and Selected Testimonies of the Major Presocratics":

Expensive, though.

If you can read French, get the Pleiade edition. It's very good. I've skimmed through the Penguin edition about the early philosophers and I wouldn't recommend it: the traduction are very partial, not very good and not explained or very little. For instance, Heraclitus is almost presented as a stoic.

Thanks for the suggestion, it is quite expensive, but what’s the major difference between the two? Is the Oxford edition not a complete collection and/or are the secondary texts not as good?

The French always seem to have a level head with translations, mostly just easy prose. I always use the French translations of Homer as reference when looking for a detail or line.

"The Texts of Early Greek Philosophy: The Complete Fragments and Selected Testimonies of the Major Presocratics" is better.
