Also to keep things /lit/, in The Crying of Lot 49, chapter 5, when Oedipa is wandering the streets at night wondering what the muted post horn means, I think this represents the search of meaning in a postmodern world/life. So, when she meets the sailor, and actually touches and holds him, it's as if Pynchon is saying that the unsolvable mystery of postmodernism/[meaning in general] is not important, rather helping our fellow man is. Also fuck I was 1 away from quads
