Go read something with an opposite viewpoint. Fight Club 'changed my life' too, but then I read Atlas Shrugged and was moved, which just means I am a worldview slut, taking my perspective panties off at the slightest hint of philosophy.

Unrelated, but I feel like he avoided the usual problem with pop-culture references. He packed his book full of them, and they haven't expired yet, amazingly. It will only stay relevant for another few years, but it's a weird example.
