Are there any good books about a 'downward spiral' into suicide? Possibly like a literature version of this album.

The Sound of Insects. The short film adapting it is good as well.

The Bell Jar though her suicide doesn’t work in the end. It’s more about the dull sort of clinical depression that actually results in suicide though.

I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Read is about a suicide, it’s an alright read but very short and very gimmicky. It describes a certain type of depression that might fit what you’re looking for though.
