Women decided they didn't like this so they utterly annihilated the categories by making it sexist to place any social expectations on women whatsoever. Then they also embraced abortion and birth control to limit the degree they needed to have children, and demanded equal representation in the workplace. Thus transgenderism, men performing in female sports and the media insisting it’s brave and not at all ridiculous, non-binary people, etc. etc. It’s similar to how nonwhites feel about whites, just replace “resentment” with “humiliation.“

I think you're looking at multiple different groups.
There are many people who transition from female to straightforwardly trans male. They're perhaps somewhat less visible than people who become nonbinary.
Now, claiming a nonbinary identity should be viewed at least partially as a status move. It doesn't matter whether the motivation of the person doing it is cynical or heartfelt, it affects status and that's going to shape the incentives.
Saying you're nonbinary means you present yourself as a minority identity. In SocJus-land, minority identities confer status. Being female is more prestigious than being male, being gay is more prestigious than being straight, and so on.
If you're a member of that world then your monkey brain (if not your conscious mind) is going to perceive it as a way to increase status. The more high-status someone already is, the easier it is to get away with it. Going from male to non-binary is suspicious, perhaps even tacky in a nouveau riche sort of way. Going from female to nonbinary is more acceptable.
So even if equal amounts of people want to go from either gender to non-binary in principle, there are incentives against men and for women and you'll see different amounts in practice.
