Given previous interpretations I've read regarding Holden's image as result of the disorder albinism, if so, I've regarded this to be a purposeful, symbolic choice as an aligned trait complementing the Judge's actions and philosophies by McCarthy.

As albinos, terrible as the reality is, are commonly victims of religious and culturally-motivated forms of alienation, even to extremes as assault, kidnapping and killing, today most prominently throughout Africa,. This can deduced to reasons that they're perceived the very opposite and unnatural form to the skin-tone of surrounding society, objects the result of cursed births, marriages or on-coming catastrophes; albinos, have from a cultural association, have been uprightly deemed unnatural beings of creation, beset with untrue assumptions of character and motive.

Despite this gruesome reality, it is simultaneously the perfect fixture for the mold of a villain's making, thus why I think Holden's lack of pigment to be a settled choice for McCarthy's vision of the very grimmest of humanity's actions.

According to some lecture I heard, to be bald in the old west just meant you were beardless. Obviously in McCarthy's Holden was completely hairless, but if this statement is true, the real Holden might have just had a shaven face. In any case, McCarthy is ingenious for making use out of that little detail.

Oh fuck, I thought he was just insulting me, haha. For the comic that image originates, I don't know, sorry Anon, I pulled it a year or so ago from this board as the best as my memory allows. I'd just thought it fit well with Holden's character. Try uploading it to an image search engine called 'Tin Eye', in my experience its worked leagues better than what google can do.
