I read a paper he wrote about this and there was nothing of that stuff in it. the way he was using the word object was decidedly weird, as was the 'interior' of the object concept he had

I read his book explaining what the various so called speculative realists think including his own ooo.

I couldn't shake the perception that ooo was created with the purpose of being a trendy new intellectual fad by design. It would fall apart under even the most basic analysis by an analytic philosopher who specialises in properties.

Anyone still interested in OOO in 2020 beyond its sheer historical value is severally handicapped.

As far as I understand, it's a purely internet-driven fad. No actual philosopher pays any attention to these pseuds.

>This proved to be much more difficult than I had anticipated: I spent an exasperating six months reading through all of Harman's published books and as many papers as seemed relevant only to realise that there was no core argument. but rather a patchwork of argumentative fragments, rhetorical devices, and literary allusions.

This, I love how it fucking imploded, showing how ephemeral these pseudo movements are. They're always sustained by a vocal minority of people who don't actually read them, who inevitably go on to another flash in the pan.
