Seconding Coriolanus

>> No.15983867

Richard II is considered one of his worst history plays, but I enjoyed it a lot. Richard’s soliloquy at the end is very relatable. And the deposition scene in the court is also so good.

Everyone loves Richard II these days though

This.
I hate that “corn” is so strongly associated with the American grain.

Troilus and Cressida, honestly thought it was amazing and really depressing for being a "comedy". Also his depiction of Odysseus is great.

>> No.15986641

richard ii is the best history play honestly.

Henry V

Bung Mead

Cymbeline, Coriolanus definitely. Richard II would be, if it were overlooked. Antony & Cleopatra is debatable, actually pretty much all the ancient history ones except Julius Caesar are arguably overlooked compared to the Henrys.

>> No.15987115

timon, cymbeline, two kinsmen, henry viii, pericles
rare to see a production outside either globe, rsc, or osf
if you have not read pericles, i highly recommend it. it moves so strangely. time dilates.

>> No.15987172

When I first read Richard II, I thought Richard was a land-greedy, bizarrely arbitrary robber baron and the rebels had legitimate grievances.
Then a random /his/ thread educates me about The Cruel Parliament.
They were all pricks.

Any particular version of Pericles you recommend?

>> No.15987201

Henry IV Parts 1 and 2 are usually overlooked in favor of Henry V

It is, fucking retard.

no, not really. whichever edition you prefer. the arden includes folio and quarto with notations for the inserts, which is nice. but so do others.
