Why doesn't /lit/ ever talk about the Wheel of Time series?

>> No.1598292

A question which, once asked, invalidates itself.

Because it's shit

>> No.1598304

there were about a thousand "who killed asmodean" threads before the most recent addition to the series came out, and then about a thousand more about the book after it came out. they're actually pretty regular.

This is a troll, it has to be

>> No.1598372

this, OP, this is the reason why /lit/ is such a shithole

Typical page on /lit/:
>OH HAY GUISE LOOK WHAT i BOUGHT LOLZ
>[pretentious philosophy wankery]
>WOW TAKE A LOOK AT MY TRIPCODE GEE WIZ TRIP TRHEAD
>[essay dumps of freely available material on the web packaged in such a way to garner OP the attention it craves]
>E-BOOK GUISE
>RECOOOMMEDN ME SOME SHIT /LIT/ (trying to avoid sticking around on the board and get raped)
>HURR DURR LITERARY FICTION
/lit/ is everything you could possibly hate about book forums rolled into one fetid mass. The few people who used to talk about reading for the sake of having fun seem to have fled, and our writers are usually so god damned horrid it's not worth your time to see what they have to say.

/lit/ has devolved into a gathering place very narrow clique of trips, trolls, philosophy majors, and English majors. It is an antiseptic wasteland of blasted crater and bombshell, constantly ravaged by war and governed through the politics of restriction. It will be a long time before planets grow in this horrid desert. Until then, we must wait.

Seriously though should I even bother with WoT?
Is there like a summary or some good excerpts?

I've honestly never touched them, just heard "aurgh urgh so bad."
Which still implies most people *have* read them.

>> No.1598532

Because there are a thousand forums, some even official, where you can discuss WoT.

WoT is actually quite good and one of the series at the top of the Fantasy food chain. That does mean, like A Song of Ice and Fire, that it is ultimately just mediocre writing in a sea of shit writing. Hard to not look good when everyone else is so fuck awful.
