You cannot have been the fly, because then you might wonder why you weren’t a butterfly, or perhaps tell the other flies that you have the mind of an attack chopper and want to be referred to as such From now on.

It just did.
A big part of being a rational person is understanding that some things just are. Every cause in effect in the history of the universe collapsed into this eventuality, making you a shitty frogposter on a Korean knitting forum.

I've wondered why I wasn't born a cow since I could think, life just isn't fair.

You gotta get rid of that internalised transmisogny darling, it won't make transphobes like you.

Are you not your father's son? How could you ever have been born a fly? Don't fall for the waiting room of souls or life lottery bullshit, be proud of who you are.

If you were born a fly or a bird or a vietnamese, you would not have the experiences, memories, and cultural values that make “you” you.

it's like asking why one rock is not part of another rock. There are simply two rocks, not touching. Same with your awareness, and someone else's. It's possible that, like in the case of the rocks, there is a faint continuity of awareness between you, and between everything that exists, in the same way there is physical continuity between everything despite our separating reality into entities, but that this faint universal continuity of awareness is drowned out by the complexity of individual brains, as if complexity were 'louder'. This is obviously nothing but speculation, as it stands we know only that, like the objects we see as distinct, so are our individual awarenesses.
