as frilly and lame as this thing looks - it makes the best damn cup of coffee. I think it's got something to do with the filter being higher quality.

I suffer from severe anxiety and rhinitis issues and because of them I can't even breathe properly at night and morning. I can't stay alive like this. It's killing me from inside. Only caffeine makes me alive.

>When I’m working on a novel I type the initial draft first thing in the morning. Really: first thing. For preference, I have a cigarette ready-rolled and a coffee percolator loaded the night before; then I simply roll out of bed, fuel up and set to it. I believe the dreaming and imagining faculties are closely related, such that wreathed in night-time visions I find it possible to suspend disbelief in the very act of making stuff up, which, in the cold light of day would seem utterly preposterous. I’ve always been a morning writer, and frankly I believe 99% of the difficulties novices experience are as a result of their unwillingness to do the same. Narrative structure, mise en scene, characterisation − you can’t get to grips with these problems unless you’ve put the words on the page.

You fools, the true best routine is:

>wake up
>cold shower
>breakfast of eggs, special K, and an apple
>use energy immediately to ride bike down to a small coffee shop

Go on nature trails instead of sidewalks (unless you're a cityfag, in which case rope would be your best bet)
Wear a mask when you're in the shop, sit away from other people (or better yet just go to a place that's usually quiet)
And, most importantly, don't be an Amerilard who thinks wearing a mask is a control move by the gubernment

I love getting up in the morning and that's why I only read a little sharp bit to further stimulate my minding and that early morning crispness of feeling. It's in the cold air.

If I seriously sit down to do reading I find it constricts my mind and devastates that early morning crispness just to the enjoyableness of the book, and its specificity in my head. When my mind is so malleable in the morning, I prefer to focus on my senses and further expanding that freshness of mind.

It's a means of making coffee via the "pour-over" method. That's also how it works.

It is very good.
