this was an interesting read, considering it's about the reality i grew up in but seen through the eyes of a conservative politician from across the ocean.
it's also interesting to read it in light of the current reactionary discourse. since on the one hand, /pol/ etc strongly believe in the incurable moral differences that this book claims to find between different genetic groups (southern Italians not qualifying as white..); but at the same time, what here is presented as "backwards" and many traditionalist mentalities often associated with non-whites, are often glorified in the face of "degeneracy" or "postmodernism" or whatever the word of the day is.

It depends what you mean. The best sociologists of the past century were right wing. Werner Sombart for example. Read Muller's The Other God that Failed and you'll hear about all of them.

For more contemporary sociology of things like black crime, try Edward Banfield, James Q. Wilson, and Patrick Moynihan, all associated with an abortive attempt by sociologists in the 1970s and 1980s to confront the epidemic of crime and poor outcomes in black communities. They were gradually suppressed on the assumption that they were racist even though many of them were liberal.

Plus if you can believe the gook data people actually in all aspects view you more highly after doing a "good" plastic surgery, which seems fairly ubiquitos these days (if you can scartch up the money).
