Thoughts? I just finished it and I feel that the theory of the propaganda model is sound and that the info was presented in an ordered and easy to understand way

Is there any other reading I should look into to better understand the Guatemalan junta and political struggle? I'm having a tough time getting engaged because I don't have context for the events described, and they are described in minute detail.

Why did they bother with that weird gimmick on the cover?

Edward Bernays and Sigmund Freud. Also, don't forget Noam Chomsky.

Woah thank you Noam, we didn't know our propaganda was that obvious to everyone! We will be sure to improve our strategies from now on
Best wishes,

You should read Padraic Pearse

You pretty much nailed the description. Propaganda model is real and you'll notice it everywhere after you learn about it. That being said, the last few chapters are pretty irrelevant for most readers, given that no one needs to know trivia about the New York Times lying about the Vietnam War.
