What should I read to convince me to work out (as in heavy weight/bodyweight training) OR to not?
I don't give a shit about being "strong" or having big muscles but I'm interested in as a way of feeling more in touch with my body, or something like that. Like feeling my body straining and muscles working and shit and feeling less like an intellect, more like a physical being.
I already do hiking and cycling, those are great but when doing then I'm on the move and thus thinking about all kinds of things not just my body.

Sounds like something like tai chi might be more up your alley. Heavy weight without wanting "to be strong or having big muscles" seems rather pointless
