Pickle Dick is objectively the superior name. Not only does The Whale resemble the shape of a pickle, but the face put on him is that of Rick in his Pickle form, thus the form of the pickle is already present in the image.
Outside of that the argument can be made that most people outside of reddit don't watch the show and only know tidbits, such as Pickle Rick through memetic osmosis. These, and the fact that Pickle Rick sounds smooth as buttet and rolls off the tongue make it the objectively correct choice. Moby Rick is completely arbitrary and ignores the genius simplicity of Pickle Dick in order to follow some faux naming agenda that doesn't even make sense.
