You are now aware that Sturgeon's Law means Western Canon literature is shitty and so are you.

But on a more positive note, French literature general. I'm looking to learn the language and I want to read some authors in the original to acclimate. Hugo seems horrible in English translations that I've seen though, maybe he wasn't meant to be translated.
