agnosticfag here - I'm reading through the KJ OT for the first time but am gaining nothing from the lists of generations and divers laws etc. in most of the early books (just finished Deuteronomy).

I'm more interested in the New Testament and am only reading the OT for a foundation of understanding of God and Christianity, and will return afterwards to read the less significant texts.

Since the church chose the order of the books generations after they had been written, does it even matter which order you read them in? is the narrative progression between books just an illusion?

its full of mistranslation to fit the christian narrative, they like to insert Jesus whenever possible, read the original Hebrew or read a non-christian translation.
