He is not an economist, he is an anthropologist. You wouldn't trust an economist on anthropological matters, so you shouldn't trust an anthropologist on economics matters, at least from an academic perspective. The guy wrote this piece:
https://progressiveeconomyforum.com/blog/against-economics/
Which has so many things wrong with it that I cant be bothered to seriously discuss it on here

Too late. Honestly, I would read an economist on anthropological matters. Different perspectives are neat and it was more of a philosophical look at the origins of debt

It's basically a giant strawman of economics, because the guy clearly hasn't seriously studied economics.
To give just ONE blatant example because it's only in the third paragraph, he says
>We now live in a different economic universe than we did before the crash. Falling unemployment no longer drives up wages. Printing money does not cause inflation. Yet the language of public debate, and the wisdom conveyed in economic textbooks, remain almost entirely unchanged.
Here, he reveals that he does not understand the very simple economic concept of output gaps. Since there is a large output gap, at present printing money is not likely to cause inflation. If the economy was booming, printing money would indeed likely cause inflation. Economic textbooks do not need to be changed, they already account for different policy prescriptions during different economic conditions, this guy just never seriously studied economics.

Richardson's great biography of William shows what a late bloomer he was, Henry's early success literally being what finally got him up off his ass. Henry's too subtle a writer ultimately (and his characters too worldly) to explore actively the finer points of radical empiricism or Jamesian pragmatism, I feel. Though less philosophic Henry makes up for it through superior poetics- as behooves a writer of fiction. Both great writers but in very different fields.
