Real Gnostics correct me if I'm wrong but this is my understanding:
The Demiurge is a lesser emanation of the Monad, it wasn't consciously/intentionally created. The Demiurge isn't "evil" just imperfect, a lesser/inferior image of the Monad.

Christianity is basically Gnosticism in how Satan is the cause of the current state of the world, to which we find Paul call him 'the god of this world'. While he didn't create it he corrupted it.
All the problems of gnosticism exist in christianity, since God freely created Satan knowing what he would become an hat he would be damned for eternity.
No creation that has been foreseen to become eternally damned can't ever be seen as the creation of a good creator.

This BTFO of most forms of Gnostism. There is an idea that the Demiurge created this world and humans to better understand their spirit (given by True God) contained within them or to improve his own knowledge and power level. Still seems BS though.
