Which books will put me on the path of becoming a philosopher king?

I want be an effective yet respectful leader. I need skills and knowledge that are applicable in the real world. All subjects welcome.

I want to say:
-The Prince
-Meditations
-How to Win Friends and Influence People
But there is a lot to these books which cannot be applied to the world these days.

You need to be born in an aristocratic faimily in ancient Greece, Persia or China, so work on that.

Read plato, parmenides, heraclitus etc. Develop your metaphysics. When it matures enough try to have it be applied in another field. When it's developed enough then apply it in the field you want.

I don't think there's anyone here qualified to answer that

I'd start with your ontological dimension. This decides how you perceive truth, are you a monist a dualist a triast pluralist etc. Then interpret physical objects and linguistics in that way

I'm only an amateur when it comes to philosophical knowledge but I do see some of the themes occur in the workplace. There is a lot of untapped potential within philosophy that can be applied to the workforce. Hate to be this guy but the boomers are mostly unenlightened slaves stricken with stockholm syndrome. They act on experience vs critical thought. Basically "this is what has worked" vs "how can improve this?".

My bad, I forgot that most leaders and influential people are all very occupied with “ontological dimensions” and those three other words you learned during your philosophy 101 class.

Most aren't but most aren't philosopher kings per op

If you are a leader, you are no longer free for you are labeled. Others will ensure you can never be free again through concepts like "honor" and "treason".
