actually, I read most books for fun and occasionally to learn something

I did try that when I was younger, started reading Aristotle and all a host of other philosophic hacks just to drop names, but in the end I realized I really wasn't learning anything and I couldn't care less. Meh.

That's how I started but now I do it because I love reading.

But think about how many fields people get into for shallow or vain reasons: how many bands started to get sex, how many artists exist to seem creative. But I bet many, if not all, will continue because they find something they genuinely love about it.
