I want to write a book, and I have been working on it for a while.

Problem is there are people following me and trying to ruin my career before it can ever start.

If I ever did publish somethinig good, these people would probably try to character assassinate me.

Any advice?

Is that getting followed problem a byproduct of using social media? Or, do you happen to have many personal interactions and encounters with people? This is not a literary example, but the film 8 1/2 by Federico Fellini is similar to your situation in premise, but not the exact same thing, either, as it combines writer's/director's block with themes of getting hounded by mobs of press and fans.

They are people I know irl, but it is extending to social media.

My writing was actually based on how I was being followed, and how it relates to politics unfolding now.

I was trying to make the best of that situation.

Sorry for being vague, I can go into it more but it is a long story.

For me, its just really sad because I am in love with my works, and I think I could even offer a lot to the world of art/literature, but these people are trying to take me down.
