The brain forgets everything that is not applied or recalled. Don't pretend that you recall and apply everything you read. Don't kid yourself when you think reading X number of books per day is productive.

Cause I've got nothing better to do.
I could either talk about random bullshit with random people that I won't remember in a few years or I could read a book.

you should internalize and reflect on what your reading. Some stuff will get through and better world life. You may happen to re-read the same book years latter and notice something you never did before that's now relevant to you.

I used to feel bad about not reading many books, I realized recently I don't actually read less than other humans in history. 99% of my time is reading 4chan, wikipedia, or documentation (software engineering), and rarely a random book.

It's just in the past everything was presented in a book format because that was the best way to pass information around. But with the internet books are essentially obsolete

There's no point to anything, brainlet. I base my affairs in nothing.

4chan and wikipedia are incomplete sources that are full of shit. If you read a book, you get a comprehensive picture.

Why yes, I used to feel bad about not reading many books, I realized recently I don't actually read less than other humans in history. 99% of my time is reading 4chan, wikipedia, or documentation (software engineering), and rarely a random book, how could you tell?
