I'm about to embark on the journey of Western Philosophy, and I know taking notes is important. Any advice on how to do it?

anote concepts and how they relate to different philosophers/philosophies.
I really suggest you use one or a few philosophical dictionaries so you get the most out of that beautiful experience.
It won't be easy and you won't get smarter but you'll be conscious of your own ignorance/insignificance and that is best reward any young person could have for it's efforts.
I don't like Marx, but i live by these words:
“There is no royal road to science, and only those who do not dread the fatiguing climb of its steep paths have a chance of gaining its luminous summits.”
